The aim of the Nomad Wireless Forum is to work with local authorities, the public sector and technology partners to develop wireless strategies and to increase understanding of the opportunities available through the adoption of wireless technologies and digital community solutions.
This event was specially designed by the Nomad Wireless Forum in conjunction with Intel and featured local authority and industry expert speakers who have pioneered the development of outdoor wireless networks worldwide.
The focus of this 2-day learning event was to present case studies and detailed information that would provide delegates with: - A common understanding of wireless technologies as an enabler of transformation; and
- A framework to help plan and develop a wireless infrastructure and solution suite
Over 2 days, the education seminar explored the following themes:- Why wireless technologies are promoted as a solution to the local authority efficiency agenda
- Why wireless can be important in delivering business change in local authorities
- Case studies featuring local authorities preparing and managing the challenges of deploying wireless solutions
- Lessons learnt on the road towards better service delivery
- The different wireless technologies available and construction of wireless networks
- Choosing from the different business models for wireless
- Using infrastructure and application layers to deploy mobile solutions more freely
- Examination of the ecosystem of partners, internal and external stakeholders needed to deliver the vision.
